The movie found its first share of controversies as soon as the name was announced. For quite some time, many believed that the name Bajrangi Bhaijaan was an implication of ‘Love Jihad’: A sickly religious act wherein Muslim youth woo non-Muslim girls in order to convert them to Islam.

Bhar Do Jholi: the qawwali which plays towards the ends of the movie is said to have been used by the filmmakers without appropriate permissions, claims an Abdul Samee Siddiqui who has brought the rights from the heir of the original composers.

Many of the netizens must have recognized that the scene where Nawazuddin Siddiqui makes his entry has been copied, frame by frame & dialogue by dialogue from a Pakistani viral video! Infact, the original Chand Nawab resurfaced on many news channels and even demanded compensation from the filmmakers for having inspired Nawazuddin’s character.
