So Sonam is really busy with the promotions of her upcoming film Neerja, based on a flight attendant for Pan Am, who lost her life while saving 359 passengers from terrorists on board the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 on September 5, 1986. Posthumously, she became the youngest recipient of India’s highest peacetime military award for bravery, the Ashok Chakra. While we are all waiting eagerly for the film to hit the theatres, the actress stole the chance to pose for a sizzling selfie that made us go WHOAAA. Meanwhile Sonam is thrilled for her upcoming release and says she feels privilege to have been playing the character on screen. She was quoted saying, “There are times in an actor’s career when a very special role in a special motion picture comes your way. The biopic of Neerja Bhanot is one such. I feel honoured and humbled to have the opportunity to essay the role of India’s youngest Ashoka Chakra awardee.”
