Anurag Kashyap REACT On Udta Punjab BAN Controversy

Two days ago, when he heard the Revising Committee’s decision on suggesting 89 cuts in Udta Punjab, director Abhishek Chaubey wanted to give up the fight. There were all kinds of rumours being circulated against the film and the integrity of the makers was being questioned, as word went about that certain political parties had funded the film in order to colour the 2017 Punjab elections. “I called up Anurag (Kashyap), who has been a friend as well as the film’s producer, and told him let’s go with the cuts because it isn’t worth the fight. But then we decided that even if we lose and release the film with the cuts, let’s fight the battle because we will be fighting for what is right,” said Chaubey.
